Quantum open systems and turbulence

چکیده
We show that the problem of non conservation of energy found in the spontaneous localization model developed by Ghirardi, Rimini and Weber [1] is very similar to the inconsistency between the stochastic models for turbulence and the Navier-Stokes equation. This sort of analogy may be useful in the development of both areas. PACS numbers: 05.40.Fb, 03.65.Bz Typeset using REVTEX

Numerical simulation of turbulent flow around the dtmb4119 propeller in open water conditions
In this study, ANSYS-FLUENT packages are employed to simulate the turbulent flow around DTMB4119 propeller in open water conditions. In order to form a mesh, the multiple reference frame (MRF) methodology is used. The results are compared with the experimental results and a good conformity is obtained, which endorses numerical simulation. Furthermore, the turbulence model is used, which is sup...
متن کاملMicrowave Photons Move Out of Equilibrium
Isolated systems that don’t exchange energy with the “outside world” are the easiest to study and control. But most real systems are decidedly not in isolation, nor are they in equilibrium. These include turbulent waves, earthquakes, and the rapidly cooled metal alloys and plastics used in manufacturing. Even richer physics lies in quantum systems that are out of equilibrium, particularly those...
متن کاملDouble-Star Detection Using Convolutional Neural Network in Atmospheric Turbulence
In this paper, we investigate the usage of machine learning in the detection and recognition of double stars. To do this, numerous images including one star and double stars are simulated. Then, 100 terms of Zernike expansion with random coefficients are considered as aberrations to impose on the aforementioned images. Also, a telescope with a specific aperture is simulated. In this work, two k...
متن کاملGinsburg-Pitaevski-Gross differential equation with the Rosen-Morse and modified Woods-Saxon potentials
In this paper, we consider non-linear Ginsburg-Pitaevski-Gross equation with the Rosen-Morse and modifiedWoods-Saxon potentials which is corresponding to the quantum vortices and has important applications in turbulence theory. We use the Runge- Kutta-Fehlberg approximation method to solve the resulting non-linear equation.
متن کاملIntroduction to quantum turbulence.
The term quantum turbulence denotes the turbulent motion of quantum fluids, systems such as superfluid helium and atomic Bose-Einstein condensates, which are characterized by quantized vorticity, superfluidity, and, at finite temperatures, two-fluid behavior. This article introduces their basic properties, describes types and regimes of turbulence that have been observed, and highlights similar...
